This development follows Anthropic’s enhanced collaboration with Google, granting the startup access to more powerful computing resources. This partnership has been instrumental in augmenting Claude’s ability to handle more extensive contexts.
Claude 2.1 is now available through Anthropic’s API in their Console, and it also powers the chat experience on their website. The model’s expanded capacity allows it to process comprehensive documents, ranging from entire codebases to lengthy novels. This capability opens up new possibilities in various fields, including contract analysis and literary research.
The expansion to a 200,000-token window is more than a mere upgrade; early evaluations show that Claude 2.1 can process prompts over 50% longer than GPT-4 before its performance starts to decline. This enhancement makes Claude 2.1 a potent tool for handling extensive context recall.
